Can You Dig It?
Mobile Treasure Hunting Action
 Presenting 'Gold Miner Joe', high-grade arcade-style action now available for the Palm PDA in a high resolution version. Collect all of the glittering nuggets in each stage to continue, but look out for the nasty Kentucky Brothers.
The gold is down there, under the ground, just waiting to be grabbed by Joe. The goal of the game is to pick up each of the valuable nuggets on each stage, and as soon as this mission has been completed, the exit door will open. The fun can start again as soon as Joe reaches the door and passes through to the next stage.
But Joe has to climb around on ladders to high platforms, jump over pits, swing around on ropes, and much more before it gets to that point. The viewing screen on the PDA is really only so big, so the player had better pay good attention to the underground labyrinth in which Joe finds himself, if he expects to find all of the nuggets and the exit at the end.
Not only that, but the Kentucky Brothers are also underway, as well as lots of other nasty monsters who want to make Joe's life Hell. Some of the encounters are easy to spot and skillfully avoid, but sometimes it's a little trickier than that, especially when the Kentucky Brothers hide themselves in a barrel and appear suddenly, with pistols leveled at poor Joe as he nears his prize.
Joe and the player can defend against such underhandedness, however. Jump into a cave to dodge nasties, set bombs to blow them up, or chuck rocks at them- just make sure you hit them where it counts. Collect power-ups along the way to get new gimmicks to aid Joe with his search. Among other things, shovel, sticks of dynamite, pick or axe all help to increase the score.
The player can direct Joe to slide crates, activate switches and collect keys to open locked doors, and plenty of secret rooms and other special surprises enhance the fun. In the test version Joe can only check out the first mineshaft, and only for ten minutes per visit. Of course, with the full version there's no limit to the amount of exploring he can do.
